Our BAME Woman of the week is one to watch! Ayesha Ofori.
Ayesha was born and raised in Brent, London. Ayesha earned her MSC in Physics from Imperial College London and then went on to pursue a career in investment banking with Morgan Stanley. Once she completed an MBA at London Business school Ayesha joined Goldman Sachs, she was a Private Wealth Adviser to those with an ultra-high net worth. After a short time of being at the company Ayesha raised over 300 million pounds of client assets from new clients she introduced to the firm.
It's no surprise that she was promoted to Executive Director of the firm and became one of the most senior black women in a client-facing role at the bank's European hub.
After resigning from the firm in 2018, Ayesha then started her own property firm and then founded two property investing communities: PropElle and Black Property Network.
PropElle provides women with the tools they need to gain and support financial independence. Ayesha believes in giving women the opportunity to choose to work rather than the need to work, just as she was able to have that choice due to her income of property investments.
Ayesha aims to empower women to invest in properties and ultimately themselves via direct property investments, crowdfunding, or even starting their own property-related businesses and supporting them via the online platform.
The Black Property Network is also a platform that provides a sense of community to those seeking property and investment education. Ayesha hosts regular speaker events, seminars, workshops, mentoring, and other bespoke services through The Black Property Network.
The network empowers its members to collaboratively learn and invest in property within a supportive environment that has an entrepreneurial focus.
Ayesha is the winner of the 2019 Women of the Future Award (for Real Estate, Infrastructure & Construction), she is one of Management Today’s 35 Women Under 35, she was named one of “15 Women of the Future you need to know” by The Telegraph newspaper, one of “30 of the UK’s most inspiring entrepreneurs” by Business Leader and a RESI Trailblazer by Property Week.
With mentions of jumping into the property crowdfunding sector, we can't wait to see Ayesha keep reaching new heights and empowering others along the way.
